And
there are more.......
We could mention many more famous
scientists who were believers in God and the Bible. Henri Fabre, the father of
modern entomology (the study of insects),
Joseph Lister, inventer of antiseptics,
astronomer William Herschel (he said "The undevout astronomer must be mad"),
Robert Boyle, pioneer of modern chemistryand lots more famous names.
"Thinking
God's thoughts after Him" that's how many of the founders of
modern science saw their work.
Aren't science and
Christian belief incompatible? Surely no real scientist could believe in God and
the supernatural?
In Six Days
50 scientists with PhDs. explain why they believe God created the world
in six days.
360 pages.
PROOF
THAT TRUE SCIENTISTS DO BELIEVE
read these books!
On the Seventh
Day
42 scientists and academics with PhDs. explain why they believe in God.
276 pages.
Those
are the myths here are the facts:
There are thousands of scientists in the world who have
a Christian faith and see no conflict between their beliefs and their research.
No part of the Bible,
or any aspect of Christian belief, has ever been disproved by any fact
of science.
All the pioneers of modern science were Bible-believers (see below).
MEN
OF SCIENCE AND MEN OF GOD
Below are just a few of the many science
pioneers who had a strong faith in God and the Bible, and saw no conflict between
their faith and their scientific work
Johanne Kepler (1571-1630)
Famous astronomer, who formulated the laws governing the motions of planets,
which he described as "a divine mechanism... derived by the most wise
Creator".
Sir Michael Faraday (1791-1867).
Pioneer in electricity. Inventor of generators and electric motors. Founder
of the Royal Institution. Devout Christian who believed in the absolute truth
of the Bible
Louis Pasteur (1822-1895),
founder of micro-biology. Proved that life cannot arise from non-living matter.
He said "To bring about spontaneous generation would be to create life.
My experiments show that this is impossible!"
Sir Isaac Newton (1643-1727),
described as "one of the greatest scientists of all time." He said
that our "beautiful" solar system "could only proceed from
the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful Being".
Carolus Linnaeus (1707-1778)
was a Swedish botanist who invented our modern biological classifcation system.
A convinced Christian, Linnaeus beleved that the original kinds of plants
and animals were created by God.
What
about Darwin and evolution?
Despite popular belief, evolution is an unproven hypothesis.
